What usually causes these faults

An inspection is the only reliable way to confirm the cause, but these are the components we check most often:

• Clogged filters or dirty evaporator and condenser coils
• Low refrigerant caused by a leak in the system
• Failed capacitor or contactor in the outdoor unit
• Indoor or outdoor fan motor faults
• Blocked or disconnected condensate drain
• Thermostat, sensor or control board faults
• Loose or damaged electrical connections
• Compressor problems

Riyadh's long, hot summers and fine dust put AC units under heavy load, so dirty coils and blocked filters are a frequent starting point for cooling problems.

Safe checks before you call

A few simple checks can save time:

• Confirm the remote or thermostat is in cooling mode and set below the room temperature.
• Check whether the air filter is visibly clogged with dust.
• Check whether the circuit breaker for the AC has tripped.
